What's happenin everyone? Today I got off of work and was driving and noticed the Power 92.3 SUV parked in the Taco Bell parking lot. I pulled up and next thing you know I was kickin it with the Hotboyz Tone and Shag and the Power 92.3 crew. Big ups to my dudes who keep the airwaves hot and deliver to the city of wind. I've been getting lazy, but since I told the Hotboyz to check out my blog, I figured it should be updated. I got a track off of the Blueprint III featuring Rihanna and Kanye West. I heard it on the radio today and I got a feeling I'm gonna be hearing it a lot more. Gucci Mane and OJ are steady doing thier thing, and are looking to perform in Chicago pretty soon. Their latest collabo with Rock City is up. The leaked Ne-yo tracks keep coming out as well, and it just makes me think which ones he's gonna put on the album and if he has anything that hasn't been leaked. This track is actually pretty hot, check it out. When I heard that Pharrell and Usher were doing a track together I was expecting something off the hook, but honestly, I feel indifferent about, "Certified". Apparently Dru Hill is making a comeback and have a few tracks out also, I posted one on here for you guys to check out.
"Run This Town"- Jay-Z ft. Rihanna and Kanye West
(Off the Bluprint III. Straight Fire)
"Overboard"- Gucci Mane ft. OJ Da Juiceman, Rock City, and LA The Darkman

Throwback Track: "7 Days"
I recently drove up to Toronto to attend a wedding, and before I did, I copped an old school mix out of one of my guys' car. It had a lot of stuff by Lauren Hill, Biggie, Tupac, but my favorite track on that mix was Craig David's, "7 Days". The song was his second single off of his debut album in the United States back around the beginning of the millennium. This track is an all-time classic. Some hot lyrics, and Craig David's voice is real smooth. It's a really chill song, make sure to check it out.
"7 Days"- Craig David

July 17, 2009 Playlist: "The Return"
Yo what's happenin everyone? This is the first post on the blog in about two weeks. For this I deeply apologize, I have been so caught up with summer school and work. But you have noticed there have been a few changes on the site, the most apparent being the name. I decided to switch things up a little bit to bring justice to the blog and what it stands for. Njbxclusive gave off the vibe that I update the blog to have exclsive music that no one has heard before. That's not what I'm about. It's all about bringing to you the music that I love and enjoy.
This playlist contains only ten songs. After two weeks it may seem like very little, but I have come to realize that I need to filter the list. There is plenty of music out there that is hot, but I can't bring to you everything at once. The artists deserve to have their music listened and appreciated, so in this case I hope a little goes a long way. Kanye West has been going hard in 2009, and he's looking to take his record label to new heights. Kanye spits a dope verse on the Twista track, but check out his label mates Consequence and John Legend on the track they did together. It's straight fire. Ne-yo has been steady doing his thing. he stretches his vocalons alongside Gorilla Zoe on the remix for "Echo" and his song "Round and Round" should be a track on an upcoming album. Also check out the collabo between Fabolous and Ryan Leslie off of Fabo's new album, straight fire!
"Alright"- Twista ft. Kanye West
(I've been waiting for this. Straight Fire)
"Whatever You Want"- Consequence ft. Kanye West and John Legend
(G.O.O.D Music has arrived. Straight Fire)
"Echo Remix"- Gorilla Zoe ft. Ne-yo
(Ne-yo snaps in his verse. Nice track)
"Round and Round"- Ne-yo
(Straight Fire)
"Fabolous Life"- Fabolous ft. Ryan Leslie
You can call him Drake, or you can call him Drake Drizzy Rogers, but the man has been tearin it up recently. He's gone from spitting verses alongside Lil Wayne on mixtapes to making hits. We're all aware of his hit single "Best I Ever Had", but the Toronto based artist has been working on a lot of things. His latest includes a verse on Mary J. Blige's new single that's been tearing up the airwaves. The only way I can put it is that his verse is sick. Make sure to check out his other two tracks I've posted as well. Andre 3000 is back on the scene with a smooth track called, Lookin For Ya". I'm a huge fan for everything Andre does, and I really appreciate his music. Make sure to check it out. The Game gets in the studio and lashes back at Jay-Z for calling him out at a performance in Las Vegas a few weeks back. Check it out for yourself.
"The One"- Mary J. Blige ft. Drake
(Straight Fire. One of the sickest Drake verses out)
"Winner"- Drake
(Drake spits on this laid back beat. Nice track)
"Do It Now"- Drake
(Punchline after punchline)
"Lookin For Ya"- Andre 3000
"I'm So Wavy"- The Game
(Jay-Z diss. Game goes hard in this one)

June 29, 2009 Playlist: "June's Final Playlist"
What's happenin everyone? Sorry it took longer than usual to put up this playlist, been caught up with some things. This week is again a pretty small playlist composed of only five songs. Beef or no beef, Gucci Mane is still making a name for himself as he keeps droppin music at an insane rate. This time he teams up with Juelz Santana and Big Boi. This track is pretty hot and reminds me of the tracks Cash Money and The Hot Boyz used to put out earlier in the decade. Along with that, I also put up a single each by artists Ace Hood and Jeremih. Both are looking to drop their albums soon, and I can't wait to hear what these cats are all about. On the smoother end, Sammie is out with a hot track with a really catchy chorus. Also new stuff by the Nappy Boy Entertainment crew. Check it out and enjoy.
"She Got A Friend"- Gucci Mane ft. Juelz Santana and Big Boi
(Straight Fire. Official Music Video)
"Wifey Material"- Ace Hood ft Lloyd
(Hot Track. Lloyd sounds sick as hell on the hook)
"Jam On Me"- Sammie
(Straight Fire)
"Jumpin"- Jeremih
(Auto-tune inspired track)
"Get Lower"- Young Cash ft. T-Pain and Tay Dizm

Throwback Track: "Doin It"
Takin it all the way back to 1996 this time with an LL Cool J classic. I was actually listening to Keri Hilson's new album and I noticed the song "Hey Love" had a very familiar sound to it. It wasn't too long until I figured that the song was sampled using a classic. "Doin It" is a pure New York hip-hop anthem and was a big hit when I was a child. You still hear DJs drop it from time to time within mixes. I must warn you the song contains some explicit lyrics. LL snaps, "No doubt! I'm the player that you talkin about!" The chick singing with him is Leshaun. Check out the music video also, it's sure to bring back some memories.
"Doin It"- LL Cool J ft. Leshaun
(Straight fire and a straight classic)

June 20, 2009 Playlist: Obsessed (Gucci!)
Whaddup whaddup? This week's playlist is quite small, but quite honestly who ever said size really matters? It's all about the quality. The song atop the list is most definitely Mariah Carey's new single, "Obsessed". Mariah is my favorite female singer and she is back with a vengeance. Vocally one of the most talented singers if not the best out there still to this day. She's real smart also, getting Gucci Mane to hop on the remix with her. Gucci straight kills it in the song. I put up both versions for you guys, but make sure to check out the remix. Kanye's label keeps making noise, as Consequence is out with a new song and video. It's real hot and Consequence can straight up flow. There is also new stuff by Ryan Leslie and a record from Chris Brown that has been receiving high praise from the listeners. Check it out everyone.
"Obsessed"- Mariah Carey
(Straight Fire! Co-written and production work by The Dream)
"Obsessed Remix"- Mariah Carey ft. Gucci Mane
(Straight Fire! Gucci snaps. Must hear!)

NJB XCLUSIVE: The Blog
I just want to take the time right now to make it clear that the purpose of my blog is not to ride off of the work of other artists or promote illegal downloading at all. The blog is a form of expression for me through something that I deeply love, which is music. There is a misconception that the blog is up to find music first and promote it and be quicker than anyone else. I can care less if someone finds a song before I do, I only put up songs that I would actually listen to and that are usually straight fire. There are many other features on the blog such as Artist Spotlights, Single Reviews, Lists, and many features are coming up soon. A lot of the tracks I post up, many people are not familiar with, but my aim is not to leak out tracks from artists and promote illegal sharing. I hope everyone hears out the music and enjoys it and decides to legally purchase the music. This is why I usually post up YouTube links, so people can give the new stuff a listen. I have been doing the blog for a few months and have really been enjoying it and hope to continue.
Lupe On Leaks: "Shining Down"
All day today I was steady straight studying in the library isolated from the world while so much was happening in the world of music. The long awaited track, "Shining Down" by Lupe Fiasco was leaked onto the internet today. I posted a snippet of the live version a few weeks back in the May 22, 2009 Playlist. Someone apparently hacked into Lupe's e-mail and stole the song. Many of the other websites have it up for download and the song is surfacing all over, and Lupe has some strong words about it. The song is unfinished and according to Matthew Santos' Twitter, the live version will be straight tweaked and much better. If you want to hear the song, I'm sure you can find it online, but instead this time I want to post an article in Village Voice where Lupe expresses how he feels about leaking tracks and illegally downloading music. This article has inspired me to finally put up a disclaimer of sorts and explain the purpose of my blog.

USDA Approved Beef: "24-23 (Kobe, LeBron)"
Last night Young Jeezy leaked out a diss track in which he takes stabs at Atlanta based rappers Gucci Mane and OJ Da Juiceman. I kind of saw this coming, but I didn't think Young Jeezy would go so hard and come out of nowhere. This beef is not new though, apparently in 2005, Gucci Mane was rumored to have allegedly killed one of Jeezy's people in self-defense. Jeezy has put out many diss tracks in the past, but this one is causing a storm because it is the first of it's type in years, especially since Gucci Mane has been doing big thangs lately. I don't know if this beef will be anything like Biggie and Pac or Jay-Z and Nas, but let me tell you it has started. Listen to the song is all I can say. All three of the rappers are scheduled to perform at two of the same venues this weekend. Only God knows what will happen next.

June 13, 2009 Playlist: Steady Mobbin
What's happenin everyone? This week's playlist contains some real hot tracks. Jay-Z bashes all the lames that have turned to the auto-tune and away from puttin out quality music. Just for the record, this song is not a stab at T-Pain, Lil Wayne, or Kanye West, but every else that misuses it. The Ruff Ryders are back as they come together on the remix for the "Who's Real Remix" by Jadakiss. East Coast is bringin that fire. Also check out the R&B track by Mary J. Blige ft. Drake. Drake straight snaps in his verse and refers to himself as, "The Young Money White Knight". Must hear tracks.
"Death Of The Autotune"- Jay-Z
(Straight Fire)
"Who's Real Remix"- Jadakiss ft. Eve, Drag-On, Styles P, Sheek Louch, and DMX

"The One"- Mary J. Blige ft. Drake

"Spectacular"- Mario ft. Ludacris
"I'm Good"- Clipse ft. Pharrell
Along with the East throwing it down like it's been lately, Lil Wayne has been steady holdin it down for the South. He has a single out with one of the hottest names in the game right now, Gucci Mane. They both snap in "We Be Steady Mobbin". The other track is real hot too. Weezy is back to his old form and is straight snipin. Kanye's label is also making some noise. Kid Cudi's next single off of his upcoming album is straight fire. Also Big Sean's "Glenwood" is out with a verse by Kanye. The same exact verse from his freestyle titled, "Wheely Shit" which I posted a few weeks backs. Big Sean has some straight skill. His flow is nasty. Hear em out, these tracks are hot.

NJB XCLUSIVE: "Written On Her" (Naveen Kumar Bootleg Remix)
Back again for another special post this time around. Chicago's very own Naveen Kumar has been steady in the studio cookin up some of the sickest tunes. One of his most recent works of art is a remix of Birdman's song that features Jay Sean. It's called the "Written On Her (Naveen Kumar Bootleg Remix)". It's a sick remix and is definitely a crowd pleaser at the clubs. Naveen keeps showing off his skill as a producer and remixer and it's clear to see he's here to stay. Look out for his collaboration with Chicago singing duo Qissmet coming our very soon. As far as the "Written On Her (Naveen Kumar Bootleg Remix", I'm sure people have heard it and tried ripping it off of the Myspace page or Youtube, but NJBXclusive would like to make available the CD quality version. Check it out and click on the picture for a FREE DOWNLOAD LINK.
Throwback Track: "U Know What's Up"
Back again with another throwback this week. Summer 09 has officially kicked in, and it's only right that I bring to you guys a summer classic. "U Know What's Up" is one of my favorite tracks of all time. Donnell Jones and Left-Eye from TLC straight snap in this song. I had to show love especially since Donnell hails from the city of wind. The song held the number one spot on the R&B charts in 1999. It's a smooth R&B jam with a raw hook. Check it out.

June 5, 2009 Playlist: On Top Of the World
What's happenin everyone? I got the first playlist of the month for ya'll this time. Some real hot stuff including an T.I. track off of his recent, "On Top Of the World" ft. Kanye and my guy I'm so big on lately, B.O.B. Although it's a repeated Kanye verse, it's a real hot track, I'm sure you guys will enjoy it. Timbaland is back on the scene on a track with Genuwine. He's been out of the mix for a little bit, but keep a look out for more hot stuff to drop. There are a few tracks with Lil Wayne where he snaps as usual, and make sure to hear the track by Cassie. Although she's drop dead gorgeous, I'm a little iffy about her vocal talent. Day 26 on that track snaps though. Check it out fasho.
"On Top Of The World"- T.I. ft. Kanye West and B.O.B.
(Straight Fire)
"Get Involved"- Genuwine ft. Timbaland and Missy Elliot

Mickey Factz is another fresh artist that has been making a name for himself out there. It is clear that he is very talented as it shows in his song featuring Kid Cudi, "Do My Do". D.C. rapper Wale is out with another track also. he's been getting some radio play across the nation with his single featuring Lady Gaga. Look out for him in the upcoming weeks. Fabolous has been busy making appearances on every other artist's tracks. He's featured on tracks by R&B singers Lloyd and J. Holiday. Check out the tracks. Also, I previewd a snippet of Fabo's song, "You Baby" a few weeks back, but the full version is out. Give it a listen, it should be his next single off of his upcoming album.

Artist Spotlight: Blu
Alright everyone, I know I haven't done a spotlight on an artist in a minute, but I've been meaning to introduce this guy for a while. His name is Blu, and he hails from California. For those of you that know me personally and my taste of music, I'm more into the sounds of the East coast, but once I heard this cat I was blown away. Definitely one of the most talented dudes I have heard in a while. Apparently he's been on the underground scene for a minute and even released an LP in 2007 titled, Below The Heavens. It was pretty much produced by underground producer Exile, who is straight up raw with the beats. Blu is a straight mixture of Lupe Fiasco and Drake. He blends his words together great and lyrically he is one of the most gifted I have heard. XXL Magazine named him one of 2009's top freshman, and I agree with that judgment. Hear out the tracks I've posted, each and every song is sick. Although his single off the LP is considered to be "Narrow Path", my personal favorites include "Show Me The Good Life" and "The World Is". Blu turned down a deal from Deathrow and still remains unsigned. Someone needs to pick this man up on their roster on the quicks. Kanye where you at?
"The World Is"- Blu
(One of the sickest hip-hop tracks I've heard in a minute. Straight Fire)
"Show Me The Good Life"- Blu
(Must Hear! Listen to the lyrics. This man is sick with it)
"The Narrow Path"- Blu
(His single off of the LP)

Throwback Track: "What You Got"
Check it everyone, I'm starting a new segment on the blog titled, "Throwback Tracks". Every now and then I'm gonna be bringing back some songs that we all used to jam to, or at least I used to. Music is such a beautiful thing and I admire all of the new stuff the artists are coming out with now days. At the same time I feel it's necessary to pay respect to the material from the past. I'm not gonna be going too far back and featuring tracks our parents listened to, but just some tracks that need to be played after a while. Back when we were all on Media Player 7.
I don't wanna go too far back and bring out a track from Tupac or Jodeci or nothing, so I'm gonna take it back just a year, Febuary 2008. Although I feel this track was over-played and killed by all the radio stations, I think it's a straight classic. Also, for some reason it's been stuck in my head lately. The 19 year old Colby O'Donis shows how talented he is as he teams up with Akon to bring you "What You Got". The song is a typical R&B track and features some pretty sweet lyrics. I love when Akon comes thru and says, "Why you thinkin you the only dude? She off in the mall livin off to you. Lettin everybody know she got you, but now you feel like a fool." This song is about that girl that has everything she wants and needs, but always seeks more. It's never enough! Fellas, you know what I'm talkin about, be careful with that kind of girl. I'm sure you already have, but give it another listen.

May 31, 2009 Playlist: The Last Playlist of May
What's up everyone? I'm back again with another playlist. Again sorry for the delay, but I've been enjoying my first week of summer break. I hadn't gotten around to updating the blog. This one isn't as large, but there are some nice tracks on here. The headliner is the "Always Strapped Remix". Cash Money calls on Young Jeezy and Rick Ross on the remix. Also hear the track with Skyzoo and Cambatta. Those cats can straight up spit some fire. Also there is a group out called the New Boyz that has a sound very similiar to The Pack. Apparently they have been making some noise down in Cali. Don't really know what to think about the first single, except for it gets real annoying real fast. But for some reason that seems to be the case with a lot of singles that make it in today's time, just listen to all the Soulja Boy tracks.
"Always Strapped Remix"- Birdman ft. Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Young Jeezy
(Straight Fire)
"Back To The Future"- Pitbull ft. Fergie

"Raised Up As Vultures"- Skyzoo ft. Cambatta

"Be Worried"- Nas ft. Swizz Beatz
"You're A Jerk"- New Boyz
I'm really diggin this guy B.O.B's sound. I did an artist spotlight on him a few months back and showed you all his first single, "I'll Be In The Sky". I'm liking his new song too where he samples and remakes A Tribe Called Quest's "Bonita Applebaum". I can't for for his album to drop later on in the year. This guy is gonna make a name for himself. Also check out the Pleasure P cover Trey Songz does. I'm not too fond of Trey only because he hasn't came out with stuff to blow my mind yet and always seems to be doing covers. Also new stuff by Taio Cruz and a new Usher track produced by the Neptunes.

Jay Sean's First U.S. Single: "Down" ft. Lil Wayne
Everyone knows how fond I am of Jay Sean. It was real exciting to hear his very first single in the United States. Cash Money Record's newest member shows the world what the hype is all about. It's funny because as I heard the song for the very first time, I was singing along and by the second verse like I felt like I knew the lyrics. It's a simple R&B track with an easy hook and a decently paced beat. The lyrics are easy to catch on. It's clear to see that Jay is adapting to the U.S. market the way he throws it down but he was still hitting his high and low notes. Lil Wayne's appearance on the track should get him some national attention. A good verse by Weezy, but nothing too special though. For a first single, it was what I expected and I'm content with it, but look out for other tracks coming soon, especially the highly anticipated "Tonight Remix" that features another verse by Lil Wayne.

May 22, 2009 Playlist: Better Late Than Never
I know it's been a minute since I have updated the blog. And for that I apologize to everyone that follows it. I had a lot of school stuff to take care of these past couple of weeks and just got done with the semester. This playlist is a big one since it's an accumulation of all the tracks I have been gathering for the past three weeks. Yeah that's right, I have been listening to music and have kept my ears open for what's hot. Hear out the 30 fresh tracks in this playlist. There is a good possibility you have probably heard some of these, but they are hot nevertheless.
Yes everyone it is true. Lupe Fiasco is looking to drop his third album sometime this year titled, Lasers. I can assure you Lupe will bring the fire as always and add another classic album to his repertoire. The track "Shining Down" was previewed at a concert Lupe did and contains Matthew Santos on the hook. It should be the first single off of the album. The sound quality of the link is bad and it's just a snippet, but I can't wait to hear the finalized version. Also check out the track by Slum Village that contains vocals from Marsha Ambrosious. She can straight up sing. Also hear the DJ Scratch track. Kanye straight snaps.

"Gangsta Gangster"- Dead Prez ft. Styles P
I don't think an updated playlist in complete without it's share of Lil Wayne songs. I don't even know what to think about "Revolver" since it's a collabo that I couldn't see happening in my wildest dreams, but apparently Weezy keeps surprising me. "Brand New Money" is a sick freestyle that shows Wayne still has the ability to snipe. The stuff he says is so ridiculous, you have to hear it for yourself. Props to my guy Taabish Abba for scopin it out.
"Revolver"- Lil Wayne ft. Madonna
(Straight Fire. Wayne Snaps)
"Brand New Money"- Lil Wayne
(Banger)
"Dopeman Remix"- Lil Wayne ft. Pusha T and Kool G Rap
"Rollers and Riders"- Lil Wayne ft. Juelz Santana
"After Disaster"- Lil Wayne ft. Juelz Santana
"Hell of a Life" is the first single off of the re-release of T.I's album Paper Trail. This is a straight up ATL track. T.I. goes hard as usual. "Decision" is a track that has a star-studded line up. I can't find a link to the full version, but I have heard it through and I can assure you it's fire. I put up the instrumental just so you guys have a feel of the song until the full version is out. Make sure to check out Jay Rock's track too. It's very interesting.
"Hell Of a Life"- T.I.
(Fire)
"Decision"- Busta Rhymes ft. Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, John Legend, and Common
(Instrumental)
"How To Rob 09"- Jay Rock
(Dude can flow)
"Gotta Be Magic"- Wale
(Straight Fire)
"How Bout That"- Method Man and Redman
(East Coast's Very Own. They can still spit that fire.)
After his hit "Birthday Sex", I wanted to hear more of Jeremih's stuff. And from what I've heard this man is pretty damn good. Vocally you can tell he uses assist from the computer heavily, but he's still pretty raw. Check out "Raindrops". Very sick tune. Even though I'm not a fan of Eminem one bit, I feel he drops some dope verses on this track. It's real deep. Let's just say it's not the typical Eminem track.
"Raindrops"- Jeremih
(Straight Fire)
"Everywhere We Are"- Jeremih
"Beautiful"- Eminem
(Deep verses)
"Patron"- Lee Carr ft. Yung Joc
"With You"- K-Young ft. Yung Berg
(Apparently this track is very old, but it's still raw nevertheless)
Ludacris straight snaps in his verse in "Can't Live Without Ya". I'm not too fond of Johnta Austin's vocals, but Ludacris makes this song. My girl Esmee Denters is back with another song featuring none other than Justin Timberlake. She has an awesome voice and I see a lot of potential in her. She should have some of her tracks featured on the radio very soon. Also check out Mario's rendition of Marvin Gaye's classic, "Sexual Healing."
"Can't Live Without Ya"- Johnta Austin ft. Ludacris
"Dreaming About You"- Jaicko Lawrence
"Casanova"- Esmee Denters ft. Justin Timberlake
(Straight Fire! Girl has a voice and Justin also snaps.)
"Don't Gotta Know"- Ne-Yo
"Sexual Healing"- Mario
(Marvin Gaye Cover)
Pitbull keeps coming out with bangers. All he's about is moving the crowd, and he samples anything and everything to do it. "Shut It Down" is a real different song, a little over the top maybe. The collabo with Lil Jon and Will.I.Am is pretty hot. Young Jeezy comes thru with a strong verse in the remix for "All The Above." Wiz Khalifa does a cover over Drake's "Best I Ever Had" and solutes all of the pop stars that have nude pictures going around the internet. The latest being Rihanna and Cassie.
"Shut It Down"- Pitbull
(Banger)
"Dance Dance- Kasual ft. Soulja Boy
"Put Ya Fuckin Hands Up"- Pitbull ft. Lil Jon, Will.I.Am, and JD
"All The Above Remix"- Maino ft. T-Pain and Young Jeezy
"Ode To Naked Pop Stars"- Wiz Khalifa
(Drake Cover)
"Shining Down"- Lupe Fiasco ft. Matthew Santos
(Live version snippet)
"Cloud 9"- Slum Village ft. Marsha Ambrosius
"Ready To Go"- DJ Scratch ft. Kanye West and Consequence
(Straight Fire)
"Forever"- De La Soul

My Favorite Hip-Hop Songs: 2000 and Beyond
So I'm sure you guys that follow the blog sometimes wonder what are my personal favorite tracks to listen to. To tell you the honest truth, making this list was very difficult for me. Included are my favorite hip-hop songs that have been dropped after the turn of the century. Keep in mind that none of the songs are on any albums put out by Kanye West. A majority of the songs on this list would have been songs by Kanye if I were to include them. This is a hip-hop list, an R&B is one under construction. Make sure to let me know what you think of my list and I hope you enjoy.
1. "Get By Remix"- Talib Kweli ft. Mos Def, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Busta Rhymes
-This track has some of the best emcees in the game on top of their game. Jay-Z and Kanye West straight kill it in their verses. I heard this song when I was in middle school, and every time I have heard it after it's like hearing it for the very first time. Kanye West does a beautiful job producing this track. One of the best hip-hop and I have heard to date.
2. "One Mic"- Nas
-This is my favorite Nas track of all-time. It's off of his album Stillmatic and samples Phil Collin's "In The Air Tonight". He drops one of the deepest lyrics I have ever heard in my life, "All I need is one life, one try, one breath, I'm one man. What I stand for speaks for itself, they don't understand". Lyrically, this is one of the best tracks of all-time. Nas produces this track himself as well. I really like the change of pace he uses in his flow which really gets has the listener feel like they are part of the song. He starts slow, speeds it up and gradually goes back to original pace. This song is a straight up work of art.
3. "I Want You"- Common ft. Will.I.Am.
-Common goes straight from the heart in this song. Although it was written and produced by Will.I.Am, Common performs it to the fullest. The line that has stayed with me even today is, "I spent many years tryna be the heartthrob, I guess it's only right that I got my heart robbed". This was on his 2007 album Finding Forever. Common snaps in the second verse, which happens to be one of my all-time favorite verses. This music video is too raw featuring Alicia Keyes and Kanye West. Check it out.
4. "Daydreamin"- Lupe Fiasco ft. Jill Scott
-This track is off of Lupe Fiasco's first album, Food & Liquor. It features Jill Scott who can straight up hit some notes. I love the feel of the song and it actually feels like I am daydreamin. The music samples a bunch of artists, but it's beautifully done. Lupe is a great lyricist and has the listener visualizing all sorts of stuff in this song. Check it out for sure, one of the songs I heavily listened to during high school.
5. "Ms. Jackson"- Outkast
-It's hard to believe this song was dropped in 2000. I could have sworn I was jammin to this way before that, but apparently not. This is a sweet taste of the uniqueness of southern hip-hop. Outkast has a style that's incomparable. Andre 300 and Big Boi snap in this song, which has won many awards and even a Grammy. This song was real personal for Andre 3000 especially as he writes this for the mother of his ex. All I gotta say is this song is a straight classic and touches on a lot of strong subjects.
6. "Hip-Hop Saved My Life"- Lupe Fiasco ft. Nikki Jean
-All I gotta say is that Lupe Fiasco is one of the best story tellers I have ever heard. After hearing this track I am sure many of you will agree. He goes through the song and tells the story of a rapper's rise to the top. He wrote this song about Houston rapper Slim Thug who is also seen in the music video. It features vocals from Nikki Jean, who can straight up sing. I still remember watching Lupe perform this live on stage in 2008 alongside Nikki Jean. It was a beautiful thing.
7. "Home"- Bone Thugs-N-Harmony ft. Phil Collins
-Although not a lot of people would agree with me on this one, I straight up love this song. It reminds me of my childhood and where I grew up for some reason. It samples Phil Collin's "Take Me Home". Collins is also featured on the hook of this song. I believe this is Bone Thugs at their finest and all of the members drop some dope verses. Check it out.
8. "This Way"- Dilated Peoples ft. Kanye West
-Dilated Peoples is the biggest name in hip-hop that you probably never heard of. They're real big in the underground hip-hop game. This track was one that got some radio play and features Kanye West. Kanye produced a gem and throws down a straight killer verse. "I'm a Chicagoan, til Chicago end, til we blow like Chicago winds". Throughout sophomore year of high school, this was one of my most played tracks.
9. "Song Cry"- Jay-Z
-Although I really can't relate to the lyrics in this song, I can't fail to notice this is Jay-Z on another level. The best song off of The Blueprint hands down. The song goes through the story of Jay cheating on his girl and his girl cheating back. He's showing emotion the only way he can, and that's made clear in the hook, "I can't see em coming down my eyes, so I gotta make the song cry". This track is a work of art if you ask me.
10. "Number One"- Pharrell ft. Kanye West
-There were a lot of songs that I was going through to choose which one should get this number ten spot. I had to give it to the one and only Skateboard P who throws down a straight classic featuring the Louis Vuitton Don. This song shows how talented of a producer Pharrell is as well as he outdoes himself on this one. This song is off of his 2006 album In My Mind. I would include a line off of Kanye's verse, but the thing is I just can't choose one. he straight kills it. I love the feel of this song and I can jam to this track non-stop. Check it out and enjoy.

May 1, 2009 Playlist: In Case You Didn't Know So...
What's up everyone? This playlist isn't that large, but contains many great tracks. You're gonna notice a lot of tracks feature Fabolous who's been steady on the grind in 2009. Njbxclusive featured a few songs in past posts that are rumored to be on the tracklist to his upcoming album titled Loso's Way. "It's My Time" is a great track which should be a single he's gonna drop. Along with that he kills it in his featured verses on other tracks, especially the Red Cafe track produced by Bad Boy. Aside from that, check out the hot track by Lil Wayne ft. Casely that samples sounds from an Afrika Bambaataa classic. Making appearances after a while, Wu-Tang Clan and St. Lunatics have some fresh material out too. Enjoy.

Today we give to you the first appearance by Jay Sean on a track by a mainstream U.S. artist. He is featured on the hook of Birdman's song. March 25, 2009 Playlist (Part IV: Hip-hop Is Alive)
Many people say that hip-hop music today is dead. I'm sure these artists included in this playlist would beg to differ. Not to be on Kid Cudi's jock or anything, but the man keeps coming out with fire. He's on three of the tracks in this playlist. Props to Njbxclusive's number one fan, Shaina Charles for scoping out the mixtapes and finding the sick freestyle he does over the Rich Boy beat. Also Mos Def hops on the "Brooklyn We Go Hard" beat. I guess it's only fitting, and pretty tight at the same time. Check it out.
"Drop Freestyle"- Kid Cudi
(Rich Boy Cover)
"Switchin Lanes"- Kid Cudi

"Buggin Out 09"- Consequence ft. Kid Cudi
(Official Music Video. Consequence brings the fire as usual)
"Brooklyn We Go Hard Freestyle"- Mos Def
(Jay-Z Cover)
"Flight School"- GLC ft. Kanye West and T-Pain
(GLC hops onto this mastered version of the song)

He has two new songs out. Check them out along with new stuff by Lionel Ritchie, the performers of the R&B classic "Too Close", and Massari, who hasn't came out with anything hot since "Real Love".
